There is another Elliott Pearl.
When callers I do not recognize ask to speak to Elliott Pearl,
I respond "This is an Elliott Pearl, not the one you are looking for".
Callers have included:
- a discarded fiancee
- debt collection agencies
- a police officer claiming that Mr. Pearl stole a rental car
- a woman with a reminder to attend a weekly Talmud study group
- several business contacts
- a dentist with $2000+ in rejected insurance claims
- a summons to bring all my financial records to a lawyer's office
I have gathered the following personal information over the years.
- Elliott Pearl has lived in North York lately.
- Elliott Pearl is a disbarred lawyer who practiced in Ottawa about fifteen years ago.
- At one time, Elliott Pearl's father owned the burlap business in Canada.
- Elliott Pearl was disbarred for using his trust account to pay his girlfriend's mortgage.
- An acquaintance characterized Elliott Pearl's problem as him being too "stupid".
- Elliott Pearl has been named as the judgment debtor in at least
fifteen writs dated from 1983 to 1989. Damages recovered total over
$180,000.
In July 1999, I was served with Notice of Examination.
An Elliott Pearl was required was required to appear at the offices of
Solomon, Rothbart with all financial statements from the past five years:
tax returns, bank statements, pay stubs.
