S1 is a self-similar symbolic space

In this paper we prove that S1 is a self-similar symbolic space and that [0,1] is a classic self-similar set that is not the product of self-similar sets, answering two questions posed by C. Ruiz and S. Sabogal in Sobre Autosemejanza Topologica.
