In an attempt to add to the gaiety of nations, I am offering cash prizes for most of the questions below. The prizes, indicated by the formulae `(£)' following questions, are not for solving the problems but for communicating the solutions (whether yours or others') to me. They will be paid in cheques drawn on a UK bank. I may pay out part of a prize for a partial solution or a consistency result if it seems to me to be a substantial step forward.
