Travel Information
By Air: United Express provides connections between the Muncie airport (MIE) and Chicago O'Hare. Flights to Muncie leave O'Hare from gate F5. United Airlines (including United Express) has been designated the official airline of the conference for this year. They are offering 5-10% discounts to all attendees who call their Meetings Reservation Number (800-521-4041) and mention the ID Number of this conference (565RG). These discounts are available on flights into Muncie, Indianapolis and Dayton (see below for information on the latter two airports). In our experience, United offers competitive rates for flights into Muncie, and we encourage you to use this service. We will meet your flight and shuttle you to the hotels. National also rents cars at the Muncie airport.
Alternately, the Indianapolis and Dayton airports are each about 70 miles from Muncie. The major car rental agencies have counters at the Indianapolis and Dayton airports. Unfortunately, no convenient scheduled shuttle service currently exists between these airports and Muncie. However, if sufficient interest exists, we will arrange for a 3:00 pm pickup Wednesday, March 6 at Indianapolis and Dayton, returning to the airports 11:00 am Sunday, March 9. If you use the Indy or Dayton van, we will ask that you make a contribution to help defray the additional expense.
By Rail: Amtrak provides connections to downtown Indianapolis, about 60 miles from Muncie. Several car rental agencies have counters in downtown Indianapolis.
By Road: Muncie is approximately 3 hours from Columbus, Ohio; 4 hours from downtown Chicago; and 2 1/2 hours from Cincinnati, Ohio. Detailed driving directions will be provided in a later announcement.
