11th Summer Conference on General Topology and
Applications

This conference series explores general topology with an emphasis on the
connection between it and other areas of mathematics. This year, topology
in computer science (especially domain theory and digital topology), in
algebra (via valuation theory) and in topological and Lie group theory
will receive particular attention.

REGISTRATION AND PROCEEDINGS:
The registration fee is $65 ($30 for graduate students not requiring the proceedings)
if received by June 15, and $90 if received later.
This fee includes a copy of the
proceedings. Please return the completed
registration form

A limited amount of accommodation (first come, first
served) will be available in university dormitories. Here are some options

CONFERENCE AND HOUSING CHECK-IN:
Participants staying on
campus will be housed in Upton/Hastings Hall, which is a U-shaped
building at the center of the campus.
Rooms will become available at
1:00pm on August 9 and check-in will be from 1:00pm until 10:00pm. Participants
arriving after 10:00pm should contact Police and Safety at 780-5211 to
check-in.
Conference check-in will be in the
Presidential Dining Rm, Gorham Dining Center from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on August 9
and there will be a Welcome Reception at this time
in the Faculty Dining Rm, Gorham Dining Center.
TRAVEL INFORMATION:
The Eastland-Radisson Hotel and several
other local hotels provide transportation from the airport for their guests. For
participants staying on campus, we can provide transportation from the airport
to the Gorham Campus. Please provide flight numbers and arrival times.
The pick-up point will
be in the baggage claim area and designated with a Top95 placard.
- Directions to the Gorham Campus: From the Maine Turnpike, use Exit 8.
Proceed on to Route 25 and at the intersection of Route 25 and 114 turn right (north)
for one block up the hill to College Avenue on the left. The entrance is a short
distance up College Avenue.

PARKING:
A parking permit is required for participants
arriving by private or rented car. Parking
permits will be available at the registration desk.
SMOKING:
USM has been designated by the University Chancellor as a
non-smoking environment. Smoking is not permitted within any public buildings
on the campus. However, smoking is permitted on the grounds and in campus
housing.
