Every participant wishing to present a paper may choose one of the following types of presentations: 15 minute talk, poster, enlarged abstract. The last possibility means publishing a paper (up to 10 pages) in the booklet of Abstracts. All the three possibilities are considered as an equally active participation at the conference. In case of unexpected circumstances, the organizers will suggest a change of the participant's choice. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Proceedings and Abstracts A booklet containing one-page abstracts and enlarged abstracts (for those who choose that form instead of oral communication or a poster) will be distributed to the participants at the beginning of the Symposium. For sending abstracts, the organizers strongly prefer the e-mail transfer of the corresponding file in a TeX format (please, avoid using local macra). The deadline for receipt of abstracts and enlarged abstracts is May 31, 2001. In connection with the Symposium, an update of the book Recent Progress in General Topology will be published, and many invited speakers will contribute there. As by the 8th Prague Toposym, Proceedings of the 9th Prague Toposym will appear at Topology Atlas (electronic form). ----------------------------------------------------------------- Accommodation The accommodation and meals (breakfasts and lunches) are arranged in the same campus as the conference. There are double rooms in a dormitory available, with a shower and WC for every pair of rooms (the two rooms, shower and WC are called a cell). The accommodation is provided from Sunday, August 19 to Saturday, August 25. For an extra payment, it is possible for a limited number of participants to have a single room or to ask the other room in the cell to be non-occupied. The extra payment is the following (per bed and the period August 19-25): single bedroom (the other room in the cell occupied) 60 USD single bedroom (the other room in the cell not occupied) 120 USD double bedroom (the other room in the cell not occupied) 45 USD. For an extra payment, it is possible for a limited number of participants to stay some days before or after the above period of conference. The following table shows prices for respective cases for a bed and night: double bedroom (the other room in the cell occupied) 10 USD single bedroom (the other room in the cell occupied) 20 USD double bedroom (the other room in the cell not occupied) 17 USD single bedroom (the other room in the cell not occupied) 30 USD. For the days of the conference, breakfasts and lunches will be served in the campus and their price, as well as the price of the accommodation, is included in the conference fee. Because of special arrangement for the Symposium, no adjustment can be made to the price if a participant arrives later or leaves earlier. The organizing committee can, unfortunately, provide no hotel reservation. Conference Fee The conference fee is fixed at 295 USD for participants and 200 USD for accompanying persons. If received by May 31, 2001, the cutprice conference fee is 280 USD for participants and 185 USD for accompanying persons. If a written and signed note of cancellation is received by the organizing committee before July 31, 2001, the conference fee will be refunded except necessary bank expenses. The conference fee covers conference materials, accommodation from Sunday 19 till Saturday 25 together with breakfasts and lunches (lunches are covered from Monday till Friday), welcome party, farewell dinner, a ticket to a free access to Prague public transport during the conference, refreshment, a sight-seeing tour and a concert; accompanying persons will not pay materials of the conference and lunches but a social program is included in the fee. By a money order cheque payable to Toposym, Matematicky ustav CAV, and sent to Matematicky ustav CAV, Zitna 25, 11567 Praha 1, Czech Republic. 2. By a credit card (only: VISA, EuroCard/MasterCard, JCB). More information about paying by credit cards can be found on our WWW page http://www.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~toposym/ Because of large loss by using bank transfers, that third way of payment should be used exceptionally (interested participants should contact organizers by e-mail). ------------------------------------------------------------- Travel visa Travel visa for staying in the Czech republic during the conference are not needed for owners of USA passports and for participants from most countries of Europe. See our WWW page for more detailed information: http://www.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~toposym/ -------------------------------------------------------------- Social Program All registered participants and accompanying persons are invited to attend the social program. It includes Sunday, August 19 - a get-together party in the evening, Wednesday, August 22 - an afternoon sight-seeing tour of Prague, Thursday, August 23 - an evening organ concert, Friday, August 24 - a farewell party in the evening. For accompanying persons several half-day excursions to the places of interest in Prague are being prepared. Besides those complimentary events a full-day tour in Bohemia is offered to participants on Saturday, August 25. The tour is preliminary planned to show to participants interesting parts of West Bohemia featuring also a special glass factory (with a possibility to buy Bohemian glass) and a classicist palace Kozel near Pilsen. The expected return is around 5 p.m. The tickets for full-day tour (50 USD, it includes a noon dinner) can be paid in advance together with the conference fee or can be purchased at the beginning of the Symposium. Since we should know an approximate number of participants, please, mark the corresponding field in the registration form. New information about the tour will appear at WWW-page. ------------------------------------------------------------- Registration We strongly recommend to register via our homepage at http://www.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~toposym/ The other possibility is to use the enclosed registration form in ASCII form, to fill it in and send it to us by e-mail (our address is toposym@karlin.mff.cuni.cz) or by a classical mail.
