Quaternionic M-symbols, Brandt matrices and Hilbert modular forms

I will present a new approach to the theory of Brandt matrices which permits a more efficient computational approach to Hilbert modular forms. This approach leads naturally to the notions of quaternionic M-symbols which bears lot of resemblance with the usual classical M-symbols. The presentation will be illustrated with several examples.
