Small Gaps Between Primes
by
Dan Goldston
San Jose State University

We will describe a method for detecting small gaps between primes which proves that a positive proportion of consecutve primes are within 1/4 of the average spacing between consecutive primes. While this falls far short of the twin prime conjecture, the method has some connections with this famous problem. This is joint work with Cem Yildirim.
