Orthomodular semilattices and orthosemilattices
by
Ivan Chajda
Department of Algebra and Geometry, Palacky University Olomouc

We introduce an orthosemilattice (or an orthomodular semilattice) as a meet-semilattice S with 0 such that every its interval [0,a] (a of S) is an ortholattice (or an orthomodular lattice, respectively). To every such a semilattice is assigned a new binary operation and, conversely, a meet semilattice with 0 is characterized to be an orthosemilattice or an orthomodular semilattice if it satisfies simple axioms in terms of the operation meet and a certain binary operation which becames the assigned one.
