The Secret Life of Liquid Droplets

Liquid droplets attached to a solid surface do many things: spreading, contracting, sliding, drifting, colliding, collapsing, coarsening, and pattern forming. This talk will discuss all of these processes, using asymptotic and variational methods to derive some of the key dynamical features.
