Singular Primes for Three Point Covers
by
David P. Roberts

We discuss how Katz's theory of rigid local systems forces certain three point covers to have a small set of singular primes. Occasionally covers outside this class can have a similarly small set of singular primes in a way which currently seems accidental. We present examples with singular set {2, 3}, forced in cases with Galois group W(E6) and accidental in cases with S18, S28 and S33.
