On Solutions of Hyperbolic Equations with Damping and Source Terms

The hyperbolic initial-boundary value problem with the damping term au_t| u_t| ^q-1 and the forcing term b( [ 1/(1-u)]) ^p, where p > 1, q > 1, a > 0, and b > 0 are given constants, is studied. Conditions necessary for the existence of a unique solution are obtained.
