Universal partial metrizability

It can be shown that many standard topological structures essentially evidence the existence of a partial metric yielding them, which are valued in a quantale, and the latter can be assumed stably compact. Among these are: topologies, quasiproximities, quasiuniformities, and pairwise completely regular bitopological spaces. We discuss this equivalence and, as time allows, completions and other resulting notions.
