Sequential spaces from tree partitioning
by
Alan Dow
UNC Charlotte

P. Simon introduced a novel idea of partitioning a maximal almost disjoint family of subsets of N in order to construct a pair of compact Frechet spaces whose product was not Frechet. We discuss how this idea of partitioning mad families seems to be a common element in the construction of other examples of compact Frechet-like spaces and raise the prospect of a more general investigation.
