Some Questions On Images of Stone-Cech Remainders
by
Ronnie Levy
George Mason University

If n >= 1 is a (finite or infinite) cardinal number, a function f \colon X --> Y is n-to-1 [respectively, <= n-to-1] if |f-1(y)| = n [respectively, 1 <= |f-1(y)| <= n] for each y in Y. We discuss the lack of recent progress on some questions relating to n-to-1 and <= n-to-1 functions f \colon D* --> Y where D is an infinite discrete space.
