Hadwiger's Conjecture - then and now
by
Bjarne Toft
University of Southern Denmark

Hadwiger's Conjecture from 1943 suggested a far reaching generalization of the Four Color Theorem, and it is perhaps the most interesting conjecture of graph theory. The purpose of this talk will be to present a survey of the history of the conjecture and the many partial results, including some of the related unsolved problems.
