Metrizability and dimension

I. Tsereteli and L. Zambakhidze

It is proved that under some natural restrictions any topologically closed subclass of the class of all Tychonoff spaces, where the three classical dimension functions coincide, is a subclass of the class of all metrizable spaces with a countable base providing a complete solution for a problem of A.V. Arhangel'skii, next to a partial solution of L.A. Tumarkin's problem.
