Spans of Certain Simple Closed Curves Cross Arcs

Thelma West

For each continuum X, where X is from the class of concave upward y symmetric simple closed curves, we calculate all of the spans of X×J where J is an interval. We calculate the various spans of B×J where B=R2-U and U is the unbounded component of R2-X. Also, we calculate all the spans of Y where Y is the boundary of B×J in R3.
