In the first part of the paper we discuss some new results concerning homogeneous curves. The second part deals with higher dimensional locally connected, locally compact homogeneous spaces. They are shown to be local Cantor manifolds which allows us to derive some observations about homogeneous ANR's. This is related to the conjecture that homogeneous ANR's are generalized manifolds.
