For each even ordinal \alpha, we construct a countable completely regular space X_\alpha such that the function space C_p(X_\alpha) is universal for the collection M_\alpha of all absolute Borel sets of multiplicative class \alpha and, moreover, C_p(X_\alpha) is homeomorphic to the M_\alpha-absorber \Omega_\alpha.
